Every business owner runs special sales or wishes to gift loyal customers with coupons at different periods.
This is however a time consuming task if you don’t have it automated, as it is difficult to constantly do the math for each customer.
Creating discounts and coupons with the Bumpa app is easy and takes less than 2 minutes.
Features of the Discount and Coupon Feature.
Create Discounts Based on Percentage or Fixed Amount
You can choose a certain percentage to apply for your discount. Eg 20%, 50%. The app does the mathematical deduction by itself.
You can create by amount. Eg you can set a 1000/3000 discount on a 10,000 product if you wish.
Minimum Cart Value
You can set discounts to only apply to a particular price and above. You can create a coupon code and set it that only people that buy goods worth 10,000 and above can use a coupon or get a discount.
Discount Life Period.
You can set the date and time a discount/coupon will be active and the time it will expire.
The discount code and coupon will not work if used before the day you set and after the expiration date you set.
After the discount expires, the price on the products will revert to their original price automatically.
Apply Discounts on Multiple Products & Collections At Once.
You can select multiple products and collections and create one discount code or coupon to apply to all of them at once.
What’s The Difference Between Discounts and Coupons on Bumpa?
Discounts
- When you create a discount on your Bumpa app, it reduces the price of a product on your website and it applies to everyone that orders on your website.
- Discounts created on products will show on your website and you will see a price slash on the original price and the discounted price will be displayed on the website.
- The discounted price is what everyone that goes to buy from your website will buy it for, instead of the original price.
Coupons
- Coupons are special codes that you can give your customers.
- Only people that have the coupon code can use it. Coupons don't apply to everyone or strangers.
- Any customer you share a coupon code with, will be able to get a discount on a product or products.
- A coupon will not show on the website as a slashed price. The price of the products will remain the same.
- Coupon codes are used at the checkout point by customers and that is when the discount on the coupon will apply to them.
How To Create Discounts on the Bumpa App.
- Open your Bumpa app
- Click on the More button at the bottom of the Home page
- Scroll and click on Discounts and Coupons
- Click on the Green + button
- Click on Discount Type
Note: You can create a discount based on percentage eg: 10%, 50% or by a Fixed Amount. Eg: N500, N1000.
- Enter the percentage or amount in the box
- Click on the ‘Select Product/Collection’ button
- Choose the product(s) or collections you want the discount to apply to.
- Click on Done.
- Click on the ‘Valid From’ box and select your preferred date.
Note: this means you should set the time & date you want the discount to start
- Click on the ‘Valid To’ box and select your preferred date
Note: This means you should set the time and date the discount should end. When the discount ends, the selected product(s) will go back to their original price.
- Click on the ‘Create Discount’ button
How To Create Coupons on The Bumpa App
- Open your Bumpa app.
- Click on the More button at the bottom of the Home page.
- Scroll and click on the Discount and Coupons button.
- Click on the Coupon button at the top of the page.
- Click on the Green + button at the top of the page.
- Click on the empty box at the top of the page.
- Enter the name of your coupon. Eg: Valentine, Shoes.
- Click on ‘Generate Code’
- Click on the ‘Description’ box and write what the coupon is about.
Eg: Get 20% off any purchase when you use this coupon code www.getbumpa.com website. Coupon expires on the 14th of February
- Click on ‘Discount Type’
Choose between Percentage or Fixed amount
- Enter the percentage or amount you want for the discount. Eg: 20% or N500.
- Click on the Maximum Discount button
Note: You can set the amount you don't want the discount to surpass.
Eg: If you set a coupon and somebody buys goods worth 60,000, 10% of that is 6000.
If you don't want to give that much discount, you can set a Max discount to 5000 or any amount you prefer & don’t want the discount to surpass.
- Click on the product(s) or collections you want the coupon to apply for.
- Click on the ‘Valid From’ button.
Note: This is the day and time you want the coupon code to become active
- Click on the ‘Valid To’ button
- Enter the Minimum Cart Value
This means that you can choose to give discounts to people who buy goods worth a particular price and above.
For example, if you are giving a discount of 1000, you can set your Minimum cart value to 5000, which means only people who buy products worth 5000 and above can use the coupon & get the discount.
- Click on Create Coupon Code.
NOTE: You can click on the coupon code to copy it and share with your customers.
