Either way, welcome! This article will answer your questions. 

This is how payment works on Bumpa.:

Customer selects item - Customer goes to check out - Customer selects Pay Online/Pay via Bank Transfer - Money enters your account through Bumpa Remittance/Bank Details

How Your Customers Pay on Your Bumpa Website

When a customer comes to your website, they can pay you through 2 channels: 

1. Online payment through Paystack: USSD, QR code, Card, Transfers, Online Banking. 

2. Personal bank transfers

How a Bumpa Seller Receives Money for Online Purchases on their Website.

So, when a customer pays for a product on your website, there are two ways you can receive the money:

• Bumpa Remittance

• Your bank account. 

I will explain how these two work. 

Bumpa Remittance

Once a customer pays you through Pay Online, you will receive your money through Bumpa Remittance. Here’s how it works. 

If a customer pays you through any of the different means under Paystack: USSD, Online banking, Card, QR code, Transfers, the money goes through like this: Paystack - Bumpa - You

What are the basic things you need to know about Bumpa Remittance? 

1. It works for both Free & Paid subscribers: Online payment is the default means of payment for people on the free plan. The extra option of adding Personal bank details is a feature available only to users on a Bumpa Pro or Starter subscription plan. 

2. Order confirmation is immediate: The great thing about Paying Online through Paystack is that the payment is confirmed almost immediately, which makes order processing a whole lot faster. Online payment still remains the fastest way to receive payment. 

3. Remittance takes less than 24 hours: Since Bumpa receives the money from Paystack, we process that money and send you the payment to the account detail you add to your Bumpa account. 

4. It comes with a 1.5% charge: Payments made online through Paystack come with a Paystack charge of 1.5% on the transaction. So, if the total amount paid by your customer is N5000, you will be remitted N4925. 

5. It gives customers options: Some customers are not comfortable with transfers because of transfer issues, and sometimes USSD for certain banks might not work, so a lot of vendors prefer giving their customers as many options to pay as possible.

Tips on Online Payments & Bumpa Remittance. 

Here are some tips that could help you if you use online payments on your Bumpa website. 

• Offset charges on your selling price: If you don’t want to bear the burden of the transaction charge from Paystack, you can factor in the charge when setting your selling price.

For example, if your original selling price for a product is 5000 & you know that the charge is 1.5% = N75, you can set your selling price to N5075 OR N5100 on your website if you so wish.

If the charge doesn’t affect you as much, you can leave your price at N5000. 

• Set your mind to safety/ a 24-hour time frame for remittance: You can always operate with the assurance that your money will be paid in less than 24 hours.

Personal Bank Transfers

Once a customer clicks on the Pay via Bank transfer option to pay for a product on your website, the payment goes directly to your bank account. 

What are the things you need to know about Personal Bank Transfers?

1. It works only for paid subscribers: The ability to put your personal bank details on your website is a feature available on Bumpa Pro and Bumpa Starter plan. 

2. Uncertain confirmation/remittance time: Banks sometimes can experience downtimes or delays and therefore, there isn't a specific period in which you can confirm payment.

3. Customers can upload proof of payment: Customers can download the receipt of the payment transaction and upload it on your website when they pay. 

Frequently Asked Questions

• Question: How long does it take to receive payment when customers buy on my Bumpa website?

Answer: Remittance (getting the money in your account) takes less than 24 hours, but the payment is confirmed immediately. 

• Question: Can I put my personal bank details on my Bumpa website?

Answer: Yes. Personal bank details on checkout is a feature available to Bumpa Starter and Bumpa Pro users. 

• Question: Which payment option will let me receive my money immediately?

Answer: There isn’t a definite answer for this.

However, I can say that the payment method that can help you confirm payment immediately is Pay with Card. Additionally, there are few instant banks that let you receive payment almost immediately. 

• Question: It’s been 24 hours since my customer paid and I have not received payment. What happened?

Answer: On the rare occasion that this occurs, please send an email to [email protected], and we’ll settle your payment as soon as we possibly can.

• Question: Can someone buy a product on my website without making payment?

Answer: No. However, you can record an unpaid sale and deliver the product to the customer if you wish to do so. 

• Question: How do I change the bank account that I get my Bumpa remittance in? 

Answer: 

• Open your Bumpa app.

• Click on the More button on the Home Page

• Click on Set Up Your Store

• Click on Bank Details

• Enter the account details you want to use.

• Click on Save, and that’s it!
