Customized Sender Name: 

The Sender Name was the name of our third-party SMS provider, but now we have changed it to Your Vendor, and automatically, your business name appears as the first line of text in the SMS to make it easy for your customers to recognize an SMS from you. 

Improved Delivery via Phone Number Validation

Previously, our delivery rates were affected because some contacts in the recipient list did not have complete phone numbers. 

Now, we have made it compulsory for website purchases to have complete phone numbers & SMS will not attempt to deliver SMS to recipients with incomplete phone numbers.

Text Counter & SMS Preview 

One SMS paragraph is 160 characters, but that can be stressful to keep up with, so we’ve added a text counter to let you know how many paragraphs are in the SMS you intend to send. 

Also, before an SMS is sent, you get to see the total cost to know if you have enough messaging credits for the campaign.

SMS Reports

After sending out an SMS campaign, you will be able to view which customers have received the SMS or not and resend to those the SMS failed to deliver to. 

Resend SMS.

Now, you can resend Failed SMS to numbers that a campaign failed to deliver to, 12 hours after you sent the campaign.

SMS Reports 

The next most important thing after sending a campaign is measuring its effects for better optimization or knowing the ones to recreate. 

We have a report screen that tells you the status of your messages to each recipient. Here is the meaning of each SMS status: 

  • Delivered: We can confirm that the SMS has been successfully delivered to the recipient's inbox.

  • Sent: The SMS has been sent to the recipient's phone number, but we are not able to confirm if it has been delivered.

  • Failed: The SMS failed to deliver to recipients for various reasons, including insufficient balance, the recipient's phone is dead, the recipient being in a place with low network coverage, an invalid link in the SMS, and the SMS being sent outside the permitted time window of 9 a.m.—7 p.m. PS: Messages that fail can be resent after 12 hours.

  • Rejected: The SMS was rejected by the SMS processor. This may be because the recipient's number does not exist or has been suspended, or the recipient's phone number rejects the SMS. It is not advisable to resend to Rejected recipients.  


Messaging Improvements To Look Out For. 

 

We are currently working on a couple of things to make the SMS feature even better. 

  • Delete & Archive Messages: You will be able to delete abd archive old campaigns sent both on the mobile and webapp, if you want to clean up your campaign dashboard. 

  • Messaging Credits Purchase: Right now, purchasing messaging credits can only done by reaching out to support@getbumpa.com or through the chatbot By November, you will be able to purchase it directly on the app.
